Use under extreme climatic conditions on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway
One of the most spectacular Chinese building construction projects of recent years is the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, to provide a rail connection over the „roof of the world” to Lhasa. The highest stretch of railway in the world has a length of almost 2,000 kilometres and crosses mountain passes under conditions of permanent ice and snow up to 5,000 meters altitude.
Over 100 items of equipment of the SANY Heavy Industry were employed in the construction of the railway. All the equipment used had to be especially equipped to adjust to this most demanding of projects. Several items were especially developed for civil engineering at such extreme heights for working on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, including automatic liquid concrete delivery pumping equipment, trailer-mounted liquid concrete delivery pumping equipment, road rollers and earth moving equipment, road graders and bulldozers. Thanks to their very obvious black and blue livery and the „G” model logo, the high performance equipment was instantly recognizable.
Trans- sea and land: The Sumaladu and East Sea Bridges
In the construction of the East Sea Bridge, which connects the Chinese mainland with Shanghai, the liquid concrete delivery pumping techniques of SANY play an especially important role. Up to 64 pieces of equipment were employed parallel on this gigantic project, Chinas first ocean-crossing bridge.
In a cooperation project between the Chinese and Indonesian Governments, 4 trailer-mounted liquid concrete delivery pumps of the HBT80C-1818DIII Model of the SANY Heavy Industry were put to the test in the construction of the Sumaladu Bridge. The pumps were employed for the pouring of the liquid concrete in both the main piers and were able to display their efficiency impressively under the severest of conditions – a high rate of pouring, a high degree of sturdiness in construction works carried out at sea.
The local Indonesian building contractors were so enthusiastic about the SANY techniques, that they attached the claim „Made in China” to the bridge to demonstrate to the public how well the bridge had been built.
Europe's highest skyscraper, the Moscow „Federation Tower”
In Moscow, the highest building in Europe is being erected. The skyscraper will have an overall height of some 440 meters and will consist entirely of a pre-stressed concrete construction. In this regard, concrete of the quality category „B90” will be used, which can be delivered and poured at temperatures down to minus 20 degrees centigrade. Because of the special building construction conditions, the developers are employing the SANY trailer-mounted liquid concrete delivery pumping equipment HBT80C1818DIII. The participation in this project has attracted continuous attention to SANY and enabled them to gain market shares in competition with European and American companies.
Top performance in bridge construction: the Sutong Bridge
The construction of a bridge over the Yangtze River is, up to the present time the largest Chinese bridge building project. Two SANY high pressure trailer-mounted liquid concrete delivery pumps of the type HBT90CH-2212D deliver high-strength steel-fibre-reinforced concrete of the category „C50” to a height of 306 meters. In the history of bridge building worldwide, a record has been set up for the height delivery of liquid concrete for a main bridge pier.
Great sporting spirit: the Olympic Stadium in Beijing
In 2008, all eyes will be fixed on China. In Beijing, the Olympic Summer Games will be held. The centre of the games is the spectacular new stadium, which because of its unusual design has now been given the nickname of the „Birds Nest”. SANY equipment is also at work untiringly on this project, as for example the high performance rotary boring equipment.
Performance to the power of three: the Three Gorges Dam Project
One of the largest building construction projects in Chine is the so called „Three Gorges Dam Project”. Four liquid concrete delivery pumping systems of SANY laid the foundation for the construction of the currently largest centrally supported steel-tube-concrete arc-span bridge in the world. In the construction of the Wuhan Bridge over the Yangtze River, the liquid concrete pumps immediately set up three new records: the longest steel-tube delivery, the largest delivered volume at a time of steel tube concrete and the longest delivery duration.
World record at the Hong Kong International Finance Centre
The construction of the Hong Kong International Finance Centre was the turning point: the building construction equipment market of Hong Kong has changed considerably in the past few years. Previously, the European and American manufacturers of building construction equipment dominated the market. Since the tender invitations for the Finance Centre, a strongly expanding Chinese competitor has entered the arena. SANY Heavy Industry was able to demonstrate the performance capacity of Chinese building construction equipment in this internationally observed project. As a result of its convincing performance, this Chinese Global Player has been able to expand its Hong Kong market share for liquid concrete delivery equipment to over 50% in the meantime.
Innovative Technology
In the construction of the Hong Kong Finance Centre, SANY not only set up a world record in the delivery of „C60” liquid concrete to a height of 406 meters in year 2002, but the Chinese Enterprise also exploited the opportunity by enhancing its customer services and spare part supplies and managed to break into the Hon Kong market for liquid concrete delivery equipment with an excellent price-performance ratio.
Other large building construction sites – made by SANY Technology Systems
SANY building construction equipment is to be found on a number of large building construction sites. For example, SANY liquid concrete pumping equipment is being employed in the construction of the Shanghai World Financial Centre, which after completion will be one of the highest buildings in the world and will be China´s highest skyscraper. On this project, SANY liquid concrete delivery pumps are continuously depositing 28,000 cubic meters of concrete in just 40 hours in the structure of the building.
The „Pearl Subway” in Shanghai: the 30 kilometre long tunnel was principally constructed with SANY liquid concrete pumping systems.
The Chinese National Opera building is an architectural highlight, constructed with the assistance of SANY building construction equipment.
Beijing International Airport: on this project, SANY won the national championships for liquid concrete pumping systems.
